This January, the city of Miami plays host to the second annual North American Bitcoin Conference or the NABC. The event returns to Miami after successful Bitcoin conferences in Amsterdam and Chicago.
The Amsterdam conference was attended by over 1,100 people from more than 50 countries. The Chicago event saw more than 1,200 attendees representing the Bitcoin community worldwide. It is to be expected that Miami will be just as well attended if not better.
Crucial Time for the Bitcoin Community
The event, which will take place January 16-18, 2015, comes at a crucial time for the bitcoin and the wider crypto-currency community. Bitcoin is gaining more and more clout globally as an alternative medium of exchange, and as a class of investment. In addition, the pace of innovation in the bitcoin community is growing tremendously with new services, apps and gadgets coming up that will contribute to its further growth. Added to that is an attempt at codification of standards that are designed to develop a pool of bitcoin professionals and experts in accounting, legal and public policy.
Members of the crypto-coin community, including entrepreneurs, currency experts and developers will gather to toast the growing awareness and popularity of Bitcoin. Located at the historic Filmore Miami Beach at the Jackie Gleason Theater, the NABC Miami will shine a light on Bitcoin’s future and support its increasingly diverse community by promoting entrepreneurial ingenuity and further increasing public knowledge of the digital currency.
Speakers at the North American Bitcoin Conference
The list of speakers reads like a list of the who is who in the bitcoin community. They include Nic Cary CEO, Blockchain.info, Paul Vernon CEO, Cryptsy, Vinny Lingham CEO, Gyft, Tony Gallippi CEO, Bitpay among many others. Each of the speakers has contributed to the development of the digital currency ecosystem in different ways including bitcoin exchanges, merchant solutions, technology and philanthropy. Their insights are bound to be invaluable to visitors and players in the digital currency community, both new and experienced alike.
In just two, short years, The North American Bitcoin Conference has grown from 100 attendees in 2014 to over 2,000 visitors from 30 countries in 2014. The NABC’s founders believe that the Bitcoin community is responsible for this success, and in turn, believes in putting that community first by providing outstanding networking and educational opportunities not to be found elsewhere, and by keeping the conferences affordable. Tickets started at US$ 100 for early birds, US$ 200 for regular tickets and last minute being US$ 300.
NABC Miami is also partnering with The Clevelander Hotel in the heart of Miami Beach, which will host the official kick-off party and many of the conference’s speakers. The kick-off party will take place pool-side at the main bar, the best location to meet the Bitcoin industry’s movers and shakers. Special room rates also will be available for attendees using the rate code “BTC”.
The most respected Bitcoin conference in North America, the NABC has been featured in CNN Money, Forbes, Gizmodo, Yahoo! Finance, the Chicago Tribune, International Business Times, the Miami Herald and The Wall Street Journal.
